KNIT CARE
Handwash 30°C (cold)
Always opt for an approved, mild wool detergent.
Do not rub or agitate the wool. Do not leave your knit soaking in water for prolonged period.
Do not wring the knit. Lay the knit on dry towel and roll it gently to squeeze out excess water.
Arrange the knit flat on a dry towel and allow to air dry. You can shape the knit gently while it's still damp.
How to wash your knitwear?
Wool has self-cleaning properties and therefore does not need to be washed frequently. Sometimes all you need is to leave your item in fresh air for a couple of hours and that’s that!
If your garment does require washing, hand-wash would be the safest option. Wash the knit in lukewarm water using a wool-approved detergent. Make sure to avoid strong detergents and bleach as they may harm wool. Also, do not rub or wring the knit to prevent felting.
Our knits can also be washed in washing machines using a gentle knitwear cycle (cold water and short wash cycle, up to 30 min). When using a machine, we advise to place the knit in a laundry bag.
How to remove stains?
If you need to remove a stain, gently clean the area with soapy water. For tougher stains dampen a cloth with water and wool-approved detergent, and gently dab the stain with it. Make sure to avoid using strong detergents (i.e stain removers) that may damage the surface and color. You can also try to remove stains by brushing the fabric gently but never rub!
How to dry knits?
Drying your garment correctly is crucial to maintain the shape of a knit. Avoid hanging your knit when it is wet or damp as it may cause stretching. Roll the wet knit in a dry towel to remove excessive water, then lay it flat on a drying rack. Use your hands to smooth it out and reshape to your liking while drying.
How to store knits?
Store woolen knits folded in a cool, dry place. Avoid hanging your knit as it will cause them to stretch and lose their shape.
Can knits be steamed?
Steaming is a great option to freshen up your knits between washes. We advise to lay your garment flat over an ironing board and avoid direct contact with the fabric to prevent burns. We also recommend testing a small area first.
How to protect knits from moths?
Always leave some space between knits when storing them for a longer period of time. Cedar wood or dried lavender are both helpful and natural tools to repel moths, just keep them in your knit drawer. Also, consider shaking and airing your knits occasionally as an extra measure to keep moths away.
What if a yarn becomes loose?
If a yarn becomes loose or gets caught on jewellery or bag, carefully tuck it back into the garment using a crochet hook or giving the garment a gentle stretch. Avoid pulling too hard to prevent further damage. If you need help with any issues, don't hesitate to contact us; we are here to assist you.
What to do about pilling?
Pilling is a natural process that happens to all woolen items. Don’t worry, it will only add character to your garments. To avoid excessive pilling limit long term friction against items like bags, belts or other garments. Any extra fluff (or pill) can be removed gently by hand or a fabric shaver. We advise you to be extra cautious with devices as they can damage the fabric.
